€1,600 raised for Embrace FARM

At the recent Ploughing Championships, our new mascot #Herdie and Herdwatch / FRS Farm Relief staff members teamed up to raise much needed awareness and funds for Embrace FARM, a bereavement support network for families of Farm Accident victims.

As a result, a total of €1,660 was raised, including €100 donated by a single Herdwatch Customer, and €1,000 donated by Herdwatch and FRS Network.

Brian and Norma Rohan, founders of the network, were delighted with the campaign and the money, which will go towards the costs of running the organisation. They both work tirelessly to help others who have faced farm tragedies, so we were delighted to lend a little hand. We just hope the levels of farm accidents can be reduced soon, so that their services might not be needed as much.

Embrace FARM have recently announced the establishment of a Connacht network to help families in the West of the country, which is a welcome, but expensive development, so please support Embrace FARM too if you can! Their website is www.embracefarm.com and you can also find them on Facebook and Twitter.
