Farmers in Ireland are now catching a break with a new partnership between Herdwatch, the farm management app, and cattle marts all around Ireland. This collaboration is not just making farm life easier but also giving farmers a way to show off and sell their cattle using the Herdwatch Buy & Sell platform.
Herdwatch can save farmers up to three hours a week on paperwork all from their phone or PC. As well as this, It now gives farmers the free space to advertise their cattle for sale in Ireland and the UK online. Farmers can create a free account with Herdwatch and upload their animals for private farm-to- farm sales but also advertise cattle you may be taking to the mart. When creating an advert, farmers can select from a list of marts in Ireland and this will show up on their listing. This allows farmers to get eyes on their cattle before they enter the ring and build up positive interest around their stock. With this new Mart feature, farmers can select from a list of 90 marts in Ireland. Similarly, farmers who are looking to buy new stock can filter their search to include their location of choice and view cattle going to sale at upcoming events. From the Buy & Sell service, farmers can use the “Share” feature which will enable users to share their adverts to social media- Facebook, Instagram, Farm groups/ chats and more!

- Select the animals you want to sell.
- Attach up to 3 pictures and a video of your animals.
- Input your headline & description.
- Select Mart name, Lot number and sale date.
Share information such as:
Breed, Age, Farm residencies (Number of Movements), Days on farm, Quality Assurance status, Last TB test date, Weight, Number of animals for sale, 3 images and a video. The information on the Herdwatch listing contains the most up to date animal information meaning that a farmer has complete confidence on the animals they are purchasing.
